Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using tracqr ("Service," "we," "us") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use tracqr. These terms apply to all users, including those on the free tier and paid (Pro) subscribers.

2. The service

tracqr lets you create QR codes that redirect through our servers, enabling us to log scan metadata (timestamp, approximate location, device type) on your behalf. You can view this data in your dashboard.

Redirects are never broken by tier changes. Downgrading from Pro to Free does not affect your redirects. Free-tier codes are subject to a 1-year inactivity retention window (see our Privacy Policy §5); we will email you 30 days before any code is purged. Upon account deletion, redirects will continue to work for a reasonable transition period before displaying a neutral expiry page.

3. Accounts

• You must be 13 years of age or older to create an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You may not share your account or use tracqr on behalf of others without their knowledge
• One person or organization per account; accounts are non-transferable

4. Acceptable use

You may not use tracqr to:

• Redirect to illegal content or content that violates third-party rights
• Distribute malware, phishing pages, or other malicious content
• Send spam or unsolicited communications
• Circumvent technical restrictions or attempt to access other users' data
• Resell or redistribute tracqr as a white-label service without written permission
• Abuse the free tier through automated code generation at scale

We reserve the right to deactivate codes or accounts that violate these rules without notice.

5. Free tier

The free tier allows up to 5 active QR codes and 500 scans per month. It is permanently free — no credit card required, no trial expiry. Limits apply to dashboard visibility only; redirects are never blocked.

6. Pro subscription

• Pro is billed at $9 per month, charged to your card via Stripe at the start of each billing period
• You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods
• Pro features (analytics, unlimited codes, editable destinations) are available immediately on payment and until the end of your paid period after cancellation
• We reserve the right to change Pro pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers

7. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to your destination URLs and any content you link to. You grant us a limited license to store and serve your QR codes and scan data for the purpose of operating the Service. tracqr's code, design, and branding are our intellectual property.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

tracqr is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of geolocation data, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, tracqr's total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@tracqr.io. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without refund. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
